What do you feel are some of the most forgettable heel and face turns of all time? Turns that people barely remember or don’t remember. Here are some of mine.
Sting Heel turn sometime in 99- Sting pretty much a career long face turned heel on Hulk Hogan who was once more in a face role after all of that crap he pulled with the New World Order which apparently was forgiven and forgotten by the WCW fans, who embraced Hulkamania again with the red and yellow even though three or so years earlier he pretty much told them all to kiss his ass and kick his sweaty nutsack/go to hell etc. Yet Sting turns on him and is supposed to be taken as a heel for it? The fans never really booed Sting as many remember what Hogan pulled and within weeks Sting went back to being a face again.
Hacksaw Jim Duggan turns on the USA and joins Team Canada- Not enough investment was made in this and it ultimately failed within weeks or possibly months (I forget) Duggan was back to being the loveable, goofball face again. You’d be hard pressed to find anyone who remembers the clean shaven, short haired heel Duggan dressed in the Canadian flag shirt and matching pants carrying a Canadian flag instead of an American one as nearly everyone when thinking of Duggan thinks of the guy with the long hair, unkempt beard who carries an American flag with him pretty much everywhere he goes.
Goldberg- Even though Goldberg pretty much came in as a heel when people actually started to get behind him and he became a popular face nobody wanted to turn on him when he betrayed Kevin Nash of all people a guy who in and out of kayfabe has shoved knives into so many backs and openly admitted to using and exploiting the fans in nearly every heel turn speech he has ever given.
Brock Lesnar face run 2002- No one really remembers it as no one could envision Lesnar turning face now but he did in fact turn face soon after debuting and establishing himself as a monster heel. If there were others to occupy that top face spot Lesnar would have always been a heel much like how WWE seems intent on keeping him on that path now.
Honky Tonk Man and Rick Rude’s Initial face runs- They supposedly came in as faces but no one remembers this as both men are remembered as portraying heel characters by most fans. I don’t even think their face runs lasted all that long anyway.
