We fade in to the Ascension logo as “Ascendancy” by Trivium plays over the speakers. We shift to the commentators booth where they hype up the card and explain the problems with wrestlers getting into the country.
“Fear” by Disturbed plays as Jonathan Cage stands at the top of the ramp. He has a microphone in his hand.
Cage: “Ladies and Gentleman, welcome to Ascension. I hope you enjoy the matches we have for you tonight. But I have an announcement to make. I have named a commissioner to Phoenix Wrestling. His name is David Cage.”
People erupt in excitement all over the arena.
Cage: “Now enjoy the show.”
“Fear” plays as he disappears to the back. Then we fade into Abigail who’s ready to call the opening contest.
Abigail Copeland: “The opening contest is scheduled for one fall and is an eight person tag team match.”
“More Human Than Human” by White Zombie plays over the PA system as Damage Control make their entrance. The two men walk down the ramp slapping hands with the fans. They slide into the ring and mount the turnbuckles saluting the fans. They jump down and go to their corner as “Instigator” by Kaci Brown plays and Alyson Starr walks out from behind the curtain. She waves to the fans as she starts her walk down the ramp. You can hear the male fans whistling at her as she walks by. She gets into the ring and begins talking to her partners. Then “Southern Thang” by Cloroks plays and Kevin Sparx makes his entrance. He hollers at the fans as they scream his name. He walks down the ramp interacting with the kids in the crowd. He gets into the ring and talks with his three partners as they wait on their opponents.
“You’re All Dying” by Necro plays as Killah Kain walks out to a chorus of boos from the audience. He flips them all the bird as he walks down the ramp and climbs into the ring. He stares at the other team with disgust as “Gasoline” by Seether plays over the speakers signifying the entrance of Antonio Carter. The boos that Kain got roll over to Carter. Carter walks down the ramp completely ignoring the fans. He gets into the ring and stares at the other team then at Kain. Then “Chop Suey” by System of a Down plays as Adam Cage makes his entrance. The boos stay in place but are now mixed with cheers as the UX original makes his way down the ramp. He climbs in the ring and talks things over with his teammates. Finally “Crazy Train” by Ozzy Osbourne plays and Tony Edison comes out to the ringside area. The same reaction is given to Tony that was given to Adam Cage. He walks down the ramp and climbs into the ring. Then the teams decide who will start the match. Alyson Starr will start for her team and Tony Edison will start for his team.
The ref signals for the bell and these two come to the center of the ring. They start talking some serious trash to each other. Then Alyson hauls off and slaps the taste out of Tony’s mouth. Edison retaliates with a violent shove that sends her to the ground. She gets up with a shocked look on her face that says ‘I can’t believe that you would do that.’ She charges Tony and spears him to the ground. Then the punches rain down on Tony’s skull, she then gets up and drops an elbow onto his chest. Tony holds his chest in pain as Alyson goes to tag in Insomniac. He enters the ring as Tony makes the tag to Killah Kain. Kain comes in like a house of fire and starts attacking Insomniac from all sides. Landing lefts and rights to the face as he backs Insomniac to the corner. The ref forces himself in between the two men.
Kain lands a poke to the eyes while the ref forces the clean break. Insomniac grips his eyes in pain. Kain charges and lands a shoulder block to the abdomen of Insomniac. The Beast picks up Insomniac and wrenches his arm as he drags him to the corner of his team. He tags in Antonio Carter who drops a double axe handle onto the exposed arm. Carter lays in with the stomps to the arm of Insomniac. Then he locks in a Fujiwara armbar on to that hurt arm. He holds on to the armlock for as long as he can. Insomniac ever aware of ring placement begins to crawl towards the ropes. After what seems an eternity, Insomniac gets to the ropes forcing Carter to break the hold.
Carter gets up and drags Insomniac to the center of the ring, but Insomniac rolls him up into a small package. The ref counts but Carter kicks out at two. Both men stand up as Carter charges but is countered into a huge Twist of Fate by Insomniac. Both men crawl towards their respective corners and both make tags. One to Brandon O’Neal the other to Adam Cage. These two begin throwing haymakers at each other that’s when both sides clear and all hell breaks loose. We see Alyson and Tony fighting over by the commentators table. Also, Insomniac and Carter are fighting in the aisle way. Then Insomniac sends Carter over the railing into the audience and sprints to the ring. O’Neal tags in his partner and they set up for their finishing move called Brain Damage. They hit dead on, but Kain slides into the ring and low blows O’Neal then tosses him out of the ring. Then he nails the Killah Driver on Insomniac, all the while the ref was focused on the action over on the outside. Adam Cage puts an arm over Insomniac. The ref turns around to count the three and this match is over.
Abigail Copeland: “Here are your winners…Antonio Carter, Adam Cage, Tony Edison, and KILLAH KAIN!!!”
“Chop Suey” plays as the team celebrates the victory. They all leave the ringside area separately as we fade to a promo.
We come back from the promo to the ring being readied for the next match. Then “The Way I Was” by Makeshift Romeo plays over the PA System and David Cage appears at the top of the ramp. He has a microphone in his hand.
David: “Ladies and Gentleman, due to the problems with working Visas, two matches will be postponed till next week where they will take place. Also, as the new commissioner of Phoenix Wrestling, I’m replacing Johnny X in his match with Jenny Owens with a man who is not that known but he’s earned his spot.”
“And that man is JJ Page. That’s right folks, JJ Page is now in the tournament. Now, enjoy your main event.”
“The Way I Was” plays again and David Cage walks to the back. Then we go to Abigail for the main event.
Abigail Copeland: “This is your main event of the evening and is a World Title tournament First Round match.”
"All These Things I Hate" by Bullet For My Valentine comes over the PA and out walks Impulse to start the main event. He slowly stalks down to the ring and slides in, getting ready for his debut match. "Voices" by Rev Theory hits the sound system and Jonathan Fhenix walks out from backstage to tremendous boos. He walks down to the ring and the match gets underway.
Impulse strikes first, coming out hard at Fhenix with a flurry of blows, Fhenix, however, battles back and kicks Impulse in the gut with a hard boot. Impulse doubles over and Fhenix dives over him into a sunset flip for the first pin attempt in the match. He only gets a two count, but immediately goes back to work on Impulse. Fhenix keeps Impulse down for the majority of the match, working him over with hard strikes and devastating holds. Impulse finally fights his way back into the match at the ten minute mark, but by then the damage has been done.
Impulse stands up and ducks a clothesline attempt, but he turns around right into another from Fhenix. Fhenix stands and looks around at the crowd, trying to egg them on into booing him. He looks back down at Impulse, who is trying to climb up the ropes. Fhenix immediately gets into position for The Tragic Hero. Impulse stands and Fhenix throws him towards the ropes, but Impulse holds on. Fhenix charges at him but Impulse ducks and sends The Tragic Hero over the top rope to the floor below!
Impulse jumps off the apron and punches the downed Fhenix a couple times before throwing him in the ring. Fhenix however, recovers and as Impulse gets back in the ring and charges Fhenix, Fhenix counters his momentum into an impromptu Tragic Hero for the pin and the big victory!
Abigail Copeland: “Here is your winner….Jonathan Fhenix!!!!”
Fhenix celebrates in the ring as we go off the air.
